In order to determine the best course of treatment an accurate diagnosis is imperative. TMJ Doppler™ is a system for listening to the sounds in the jaw joint. It is a rapid, painless and accurate method which aids in the detection, analysis and evaluation of TMJ dysfunction. In conjunction with models of your teeth and registering your bite, Dr. Helvey can determine the source of your TMJ discomfort. Many times all that's needed is a simple adjustment to your bite (the way your teeth come together) or a small mouthpiece that corrects the way your jaw joint comes together.
